In the Moment: Conferring in the Elementary Classroom Book Study

How can we effectively assist all students in developing their mathematical understanding while they engage in problem solving in mathematics?

This book study will focus on conferring with your students in mathematics. Math conferences provide opportunities to talk with students about their work while they're working. Through conferences teachers can support productive struggles, help students think and grow their ideas and differentiate instruction.

This book study will take an in-depth look at how the process of conferring works, how to create classroom conditions for conferring, how to respond to student thinking, addressing challenges when conferring and using conferring as formative assessments.

NOTE: Participants will need to obtain a copy of the book, In the Moment: Conferring in the Elementary Classroom by Jen Munson, prior to the start of the course.
