Current Trends in Special Education with New York State CEC 2025

We are partnering with the New York State Council for Exceptional Children to offer this free professional learning opportunity to help special educators navigate today's unique challenges.

The course opens and closes with live online sessions featuring Q&A and networking opportunities. Between these meetings, participants complete self-paced learning modules for a total of 15 hours of CTLE.

Topics include:

  • Updates in evidence-based behavioral support

  • Evolving Special Educator and Related Service Provider responsibilities and roles

  • New York State IEP Guidance

  • New technology impacts, privacy and digital literacy

  • Updated Universal Design for Learning (UDL) frameworks

Participants come away with deeper understanding of the current state of the profession but also skills to bring to the classroom, to their role as case managers and to their role as advocates for students with disabilities.
