Are you interested in expanding your literacy circle and connecting with educators outside of your school community? The Albany City Area Reading Council (ACARC) is a professional, nonprofit organization for educators in the Capital Region, dedicated to improving literacy instruction and opportunities for all children and adults. ACARC is an affiliate of the International Literacy Association & the New York State Reading Association. Membership in ACARC includes membership in NYSRA. Join ACARC this year for events influenced by our theme. Our sessions will equip educators to consider the readers in front of them while leveraging the research that promotes comprehensive practices to grow joyful, proficient, and lifelong readers. We are in the process of planning invigorating hybrid events, giving you the opportunity to connect with the presenter, virtually, or participate in a “watch party” with your peers. Return to your classroom refreshed, renewed, and recharged to infuse joy and evidenced based practices into your literacy instruction.

As literacy educators, we know there’s nothing like getting lost in a great book!  Find out what’s new in Children’s and Young Adult literature as three local experts share their top recommendations for readers of all ages. Teachers will gain knowledge of new literature to engage, motivate, and spark joy in readers. Don’t miss ACARC’s ever-popular event! Registration is required.
